We are an independent, founder-led South African software product company. We design, develop and own software products, developer tools and AI technologies using the Microsoft .NET platform.
Our story
Named for a mountain range.
The Swartberg rises between the Little and Great Karoo in the Western Cape. Its sandstone was folded, layer upon layer, over millions of years into some of the most striking rock formations anywhere. Nothing about it was rushed, and nothing about it is fragile.
That is the approach we take to software. SwartBerg Studio was founded to create software products of our own and to give each one the time it needs. Each product is developed deliberately, proven in the market, and improved over time.
We are self-funded and independent. We grow at the pace our products earn, which means every commitment we make is one we can keep.

Riaan Swart has 18 years of experience as a software engineer, designing, building and maintaining production systems on the Microsoft .NET platform, from web applications and APIs to the automated testing and deployment behind them.
